Setting Up the License Server
A license server driver must be installed on the server to manage and control the license.
Installing the Server
Follow these steps to successfully install the license server software:
Administrator Access
Make sure you are logged in as the computer administrator. If required, contact your system administrator.Log in to the Server
Log in physically to the server.Install Sentinel Protection Driver
Download the latest version of the Sentinel Protection Installer.
Run the installer and complete the installation.
Insert the USB Network Dongle
Insert the USB network dongle into a free USB port.
Ensure that the indicator light on the back of the dongle turns on.Install Matrix Network License Manager
Download and install the Matrix Network License Manager.
Start the manager application.
Manage the Dongle
Select Manage Attached Matrix Dongle.
- Verify Dongle and Modules
An overview of the connected USB network dongle and available modules will be displayed.
Ensure that all fields and the list of modules are filled in correctly.
If all information is displayed correctly, the license server is ready for use. If any fields or modules are missing or incorrect, continue reading the section below for troubleshooting instructions.
Setting Up the Analysis Software
When MatrixFrame® is newly installed, it is configured by default to search for a standalone software license rather than a standalone hardware license.
Setting Up the Structural Analysis Software
Set Up MatrixFrame® Software
Install and set up the MatrixFrame® software.Start the Software
Launch MatrixFrame® or MatrixTools®.Open Settings
In the startup dialog, select Settings.Configure Network Hardware License
Set the license type to Hardlock.
Select Network dongle.
Enter the IP address or DNS name of your license server.
Enter the serial number of the USB network dongle.
The serial number can be found on the label attached to the USB network dongle and is also displayed in the Matrix Network License Manager.
- Finish Configuration
Click Close.
The software is now ready to use.
Renewing the License
If your current network license has expired or new functionality has been added to the license, you can renew it using the procedure below.
You will receive a new license file by email.

Save the License File
Save the email attachment containing the new license file to a location that is accessible from the license server.Log in to the Server
Log in physically to the license server.Download the License Manager
Download the Matrix Network License Manager.Start the License Manager
Launch the Matrix Network License Manager.Manage the Network Dongle
Select Manage Attached Matrix Dongle.
Upgrade the License
Click Upgrade.Update the Dongle
Update the USB network dongle using the license file saved in Step 1.
