Updated on 29 September 2019

When a positive occurs there is tension at the bottom side of the plate, when a negative moment occurs there is tension at the bottom side of the plate. The reinforcement moments are defined in the local coordinate system according to the X’ axis and the Y’ axis.

The reinforcement moments are calculated as follows:

Positive Mx +/- Mxy reinforcement moments

Positive Mx +/- Mxy reinforcement moments

Positive My +/- Mxy reinforcement moments

Positive My +/- Mxy reinforcement moments

Negative Mx +/- Mxy reinforcement moments

Negative Mx +/- Mxy reinforcement moments

Negative My +/- Mxy reinforcement moments

Negative My +/- Mxy reinforcement moments
