In one single project several areas can occur with different plate properties, such as a strip in a slab. The second (or the third, the fourth, ect.) area can be defined over or to an existed field. In case the area is defined over a part of an existed field, the last assigned properties are valid for the overlapping part.
This does NOT apply for double defined load areas, elastic foundations, etc.
