Effective corner forces according to Kirchhoff theory of the plates

Effective corner forces

A well-anchored plate subjected to lateral load will develop tension support forces affected by effective shear forces Effective shear force Vx, Effective shear force Vy at the corners. On the other hand, a plate without anchors will lift off the supports. The Kirchhoff theory of the plates accumulates all tension forces near the corner to one concentrated tension force at the corner.
