The user immediately receives a message indicating that no dongle is present, whereas normally the option to select a license type (for example, standalone) should be available.
The dongle module is not correctly registered in the system.
Solution:
Register the dongle module manually via the Command Prompt:
- Open the Command Prompt (cmd) as an administrator (Run as administrator is required; otherwise, the command will fail).
- Enter the following command (copy and paste is recommended):
- "c:\Program Files (x86)\Matrix\Matrix Shared\MxProtection120\MxProtCSrv.exe" /regserver
- Press Enter to execute the command.
Note:
The MxProtection120 part of the path may differ in future versions. In that case, verify the correct folder name within the Matrix installation directory.
After completing these steps, the user should be able to select the correct license options again.
